Edoardo Ballerini Signs on to Narrate BEHIND A CLOSED DOOR

Edoardo Ballerini, narrator of J.D. Barker’s award-winning 4MK thriller series, has signed on to narrate Barker’s latest thriller, BEHIND A CLOSED DOOR. The project will be produced by Recorded Books and is set to release May 6th, 2024. Billed as 50 SHADES meets David Fincher’s THE GAME, BEHIND A CLOSED DOOR introduces readers to Sugar & Spice, the latest app craze taking the world by storm, which leads downloaders Abby and Brendan Hollander into a dangerous game of life and death. When the app assigns the pair a series of increasingly taboo tasks, they soon find themselves caught up in a twisted web of seduction and violence.

The novel has been optioned for film and is expected to be one of the biggest releases of the summer season.

NEW YORK — Simon & Schuster has entered into a distribution agreement with Hampton Creek Press. Under the agreement, Simon & Schuster will handle worldwide sales and distribution for the publisher as of November 1, 2023.

Hampton Creek Press was initially created as the distribution arm for independently published titles by New York Times and international bestselling author, J.D. Barker. It has since grown to include a diverse stable of authors primarily in the thriller and horror genres.

Barker’s forthcoming novel, BEHIND A CLOSED DOOR, set to release on 2/19/24, will be the first title under this new relationship. The novel, described as 50 SHADES meets David Fincher’s THE GAME, has been optioned for film by QC Entertainment (BlacKkKlansman, Get Out) in a preemptive bid.
